See which SASSA grants you might qualify for

Answer these quick questions and we'll point you to the SASSA grants worth applying for. Nothing you enter is saved or sent anywhere - it all stays in your browser.

How old are you?
Are you a South African citizen, permanent resident or recognised refugee?
Roughly how much do you earn each month, from any source?
Do you already receive another social grant for yourself (not for a child)?
Do you have a disability that prevents you from working?
Are you the main carer for one or more children under 18?
Do you care full-time for a child with a severe disability?

How this checker works

South Africa's social grants each target a different situation - being unemployed, being older, living with a disability, or raising children. People miss out simply because they don't know a grant exists for them. This checker takes a few basic facts about your age, residency, income and household and matches them against the broad rules for each grant, so you know which ones are worth applying for before you spend a morning in a queue.

It is deliberately conservative and simple. The real grants are decided by a full means test - SASSA adds up your income and assets and compares them to a threshold that changes most years. So treat this as a starting point, not a verdict. If the checker suggests a grant, read the linked guide for the exact documents and steps; if it suggests nothing, it can still be worth a free call to SASSA on 0800 60 10 11, because the rules may have shifted in your favour.

Everything you enter stays in your browser. Nothing is saved, logged, or sent to us or to SASSA - this tool cannot submit an application on your behalf, and no website that asks you to pay a fee to "register" for a grant is legitimate.
